Happy Monday! I hope you all had a great weekend! Although my plans didn't go as expected, I enjoyed some (mostly) beautiful weather, while getting in some exercise and quality time with my family.
Friday night, I had almost no energy, but knew I needed to do something active. Since it was raining and in the 50s, I decided I'd hit up the treadmill for a two mile run. I started to run, but my back didn't feel so great. I ended up doing a pretty killer walking incline workout which left me nice and sweaty after 35 minutes!
Saturday, I had plans to ride with Alison, but when I woke up, it was pouring rain. We decided to skip our ride and do our own workout. I ended up going for a run around noon. The sun came out about a mile into my run and it got very hot... and humid! It felt more like August than May, but it felt good to feel the sun! I covered 3.1 miles then cooled down with an ice cold smoothie. I have seriously been craving smoothies lately!
Sunday morning I headed down to visit my parents for Mother's Day, as well as go for a bike ride with my sister. Of course I had to stop at Marylou's for iced coffees! My sister and I are both riding the PMC in August, so we thought we'd get in a training ride together. Our ride didn't start off so great - When taking my bike out of my car, I caught the front wheel on something which caused the tube to pop. Luckily, my sister knows how to change a flat, so she graciously gave me a tutorial as she changed the tube for me. :)
We finally hit the road and shortly after the turnaround, I got... another flat! Awesome! This time, I had no tube so I couldn't change my flat. Luckily, we weren't far from my parent's house, so my dad came to pick me up and take me back to their house. I didn't get in the 30 I was hoping for, but I at least got in 11.5 miles!
The rest of the afternoon was spent hanging with my family. The weather was gorgeous and it was a nice way to celebrate Mother's Day.
Enjoy your day!
