Hi! I know I've been MIA for a bit, but I'm baaaaaack! Between Easter and working out, I've been pretty busy over the past week. It's also Thursday, so I decided to bring back Triple Threat Thursday! I actually woke up this morning thinking it was Saturday (d'oh!), so I was happy when I realized it was Thursday!
So... Without further delay, here is today's Triple Threat!
1. My new favorite apps have been helping me keep track of my daily fruit and veggie intake. Have you seen or used these? I love these apps because they're simple to use. The app provides not only nutritional information but you can look up cures for the more popular fruits and veggies. I also made sure to stock up on some fresh fruits and veggies during my last grocery shopping trip so I could stay on track.
2. I've been on a burger kick lately but I've been trying to keep it healthy. So, I whipped up this bad boy for dinner over the weekend - BBQ chicken burger topped with homemade BBQ sauce, homemade pickled onions, cheddar cheese and on top of a homemade hamburger bun. It was heaven and I can't wait to grill up some burgers soon! Oh, I served it with sweet potato wedges too, so I had two servings of veggies with my meal!
3. Some of you may know of a small race that is happening in Boston this Monday - The Boston Marathon! I'm very excited about the whole weekend. I'm kicking off the weekend by going to a seminar hosted by Saucony on Friday night. I went last year too and it was fun so I was happy to find out they were having it again this year! Saturday, my friends and I are heading to the marathon expo to pick up our bibs for the BAA 5k on Sunday... And to check out all the fun booths! Sunday, a couple of my friends and I are running the BAA 5k and we will be crossing the same finish line as the marathoners. So cool! I can't wait! In anticipation of the marathon, I purchased (total impulse buy!) these Boston themed shoes from New Balance. I can't wait until they arrive!
What are you up to the rest of the day? I am heading to the gym for some weights and I can't decide if I want to run or use the elliptical. Then I will meet up with Tara tonight for a spin class. Ever since I left Equinox, I have desperately missed spinning! My current gym (Planet Fitness) doesn't offer spin, so Tara was nice enough to get me a seven day pass to her gym.Labels: fruits, marathon, Triple Threat Thursdays, vegetables
