New Favorite Hangout

The weather this week has been absolutely gorgeous (80s in March?)!  I'm not sure what is going on with Mother Nature, but I ain't mad at her.  I went to my favorite park yesterday and today and, surprisingly plan on heading there tomorrow too!

Yesterday, I had a few errands to run before my workout, so I fueled up with a wafflewich made with one egg, an egg white, a slice of Provolone and raspberry jam sandwiched between two whole wheat waffles.  Yum!  I had some grapes, and of course coffee.

I knew I was going to be out for a couple of hours, so I made sure to bring a snack with me.  I love the oatmeal cookie Clif Z bar, don't you?  I snacked on a banana too.

I headed to the gym for part one of my workout.  I had every intention of doing the workout as it was written, but it was just a little too tough for me.  So, I decided to do my own thing.  I ran for a mile before alternating between walking and running.  Instead of covering the 2.9 miles as planned, I only made it about 2.7.  I was super sweaty by the end of the workout!

After my workout in the gym, I headed over to the park for part two of my workout.  Since I had to run errands earlier in the day, I wanted to get out and enjoy the weather while it's here!  I ended up walking just over two miles at the park.  Even though I was just walking, there are a lot of hills which helped to get my heart rate pumping.

I was famished by the time I got home so I decided to make a salad to tide me over until dinner.  I decided on a spinach salad with some parmesan, prosciutto and fresh raspberries with a homemade raspberry vinaigrette.  It really hit the spot!  Later, I had (unpictured) leftover butternut squash lasagna.

Today I went to the park...  Again.  I can't help myself!  It's so nice outside and it's not as hot at the park with the breeze, so it's a perfect place for a workout.  I walked for 4.2 miles then sat on one of the soccer fields to stretch and soak up some sun.

After returning from the park, I opened a very important piece of mail...  My registration card for the BAA 5k!  My friends and I ran this race last year and it was a great one.  It's run the day before the Boston Marathon and you get to cross the same finish line!  It's probably the only time I'll ever cross that finish line!

Here's what I have planned for the rest of the week as far as workouts go.  We have only one really warm day coming up (near 90 tomorrow!).  Friday will drop to the 60s before the temps go back to normal for Boston this time of year (50s).  Farewell, warm weather.  It was fun while it lasted!

W: Walk in the park

Have a good night!
