Saturday

I realize I haven't posted since before Thanksgiving and I owe you a couple posts (namely marathon recap and Portland, Part II).  It's been a busy couple of weeks and I hope to post more consistently during the Christmas season because I hope to try out some new workouts and healthier recipes that I'd like to share with you.

Today was fairly low key - Laundry, putting away the fall decor and hanging out with my friend, Alison. I won't bore you with all the details, but I'll show you some super exciting photos to recap.  Sadly, I don't have a picture from our run or lunch, so I'll just quickly recap for you - Two mile run with Alison along the Charles Rivah followed by lunch at UBurger - LOVE this place!

Pre-run fuel - Pumpkin pancakes with COOKIE BUTTER and two clementines

Has ANYONE seen this at Trader Joe's?  I picked up a jar on Thursday and I can say I am addicted.  I may not be able to keep this in the house!  I think it's the TJ's version of Biscoff spread, which is a sweet spread that has a consistency similar to peanut butter (I think it's from the UK).  The spread also has biscuit pieces running throughout.  Go out now and buy a jar.  Or three.  Now.

!!! NEW RUNNING GEAR !!!
I don't know about you, but I love getting new running gear!  I've had my eye on the items below for a while and I just decided to go for it and buy them!  After lunch, Alison and I headed over to City Sports because I wanted to purchase a pair of compression sleeves.  My left calf has been really sore lately and I thought the sleeves would be great to wear during and after runs to help with the soreness.  I bought a pair of neon yellow (pictured below) as well as a new pair of running tights and a matching jacket.  I can't wait to wear them on my training run tomorrow!

Check it out - The jacket has a rechargeable light on the sleeve to make you more visible while running outside at night!  I love this idea!  Since the sun sets well before I get home from work, wearing this jacket will make me feel a bit safer when I go for an evening run.

I'm too sexy for my compression sleeves!

MAGIC STRAW???!!?
After my mini shopping spree, I needed to spend more money a little pick me up.  We headed to Starbucks where I ordered a nonfat latte and picked up this awesome cup below.  Check out the straw in the first photo - It's clear with a white stripe.  Then look at the next photo - The straw is now GREEN!  The straw changes color when you sip cold liquids through it.  How cool is that?  I had to get it!  Besides, how cute is that little fox just next to the 'bucks logo?  (Alison made a point to tell me she tried with both hot and cold to see if they would both work.  I just hope she didn't burn her tongue!)

Enjoy the rest of your Saturday.  I am in for the night.  I have more laundry to fold (exciting!) and am getting ready to make a turkey meatloaf to serve alongside roasted golden beets, broccoli and a sweet potato.
